The root canal reduced pain on that tooth but I am not sure yet if it removed all of the pain. I have not lowered the gabapentin yet. I do feel some pain now but it is lower than before.
Did you ask what is atn2 instead of trigeminal nerve? ATN2 is the constant burning type pain we have and it involves the trigeminal nerve. It’s the constant burning nerve pain instead of stabbing. I believe that the trigeminal nerve gets inflamed when we have dental work done sometimes. Either it was going to happen no matter what, there was too much work done in one area or the dentist was too rough. I’ve had dental work done in the past during remission and have had none of that. So it’s unusual. I remember that day when my dentist who did the work was rushing. He said that he had a death in the family and was trying to fit patients in. I have not tried botox. Have you tried capsaicin cream? I would try putting a bit along the trigeminal nerve where it hurts on your face. It will burn a bit at first but it cuts down the pain. Mine lessens when I do this. Make sure you wash your hands. jazmin.
they are trying above my eye tooth old roots taken out to relieve trigeminal pain in face. I am hoping it works. they have tried everything in 5 yrs incluiding a mci-key peg tube for pills and water. I cant swallow most pills and liquids are hard to drink. the pain is in my cheeks of sinus all the time awake and only hydrocoedene works which I don’t want to take and kolonpin I was hit in the face and an spg nerve was ablated and helped temerndously but now have burning pain right below left nose where I cant breathe through that nose and it drains wrong. drs seem to have no idea what is wrong and it all started after I was hit but did not have bruise so discovered it later it obviously broke nerves in face. I can eat but the left side is numb like a stroke. I really feel drs don’t care anymore to research my son has found the most things to help me.
ive tried botox in nose and in nose area on left side sometimes helps other times not. dr feels it is a contact headache like a pinched nerve in my face which it feels like that. I have had it 5 yrs and it is so hard to eat somehow the nerve produces mucus to the inflammation in my nose. no dr even checked for inflammation till the last ent. and I am hoping after it is gone he can reconstruct back so my nose will be draining better on the left side and no pain. having a root canal and hoping that eye tooth could be it.
let me know how it goes after it is done awhile I am having a root canal above a false bridge for it is decaying from drying meds I have so much mucus so its hard to eat. had to go on a peg in stomach to get enough nutrition. I can eat but the left numb side always brings up mucus to the infection in nose. never tested me for infection and antibodtic in nose. have a friend that just broke her nose and her dr was better did that immediately and going in to remove polps which cause stuffiness. I have waited 5 yrs for an answer. gabapentin I don’t think helps me only the darn opiates hydrocoedene and kolonpin. sure hope the root canal helps
