So most of you know I have had relenting pain this week and horrible stress which I believe makes my tn and thousand times worse the thing is I haven't been able to eat since Weds I have a had a total of about 10 bites of soup I called the dr on call and he laughed at me and told me to just walk in to the drs office tomorrow..I still have horrible pain and I am starving but can't chew and the though of food makes me feel like throwing up I guess because the pain is so bad I really just want to sleep. Is it ok that I haven't ate for this long especially with the meds that I take I really don't want to damage any more of my body than it already is? Thanks in advance for you help
If you have also not been drinking much liquid, that's more dangerous. You could be dehydrated, which makes pain and mood and general health much worse. If that's the case, you should go to the E.R. and tell them about your TN pain ands that you haven't been able to eat or drink enough, and that you think you could be dehydrated. Often an E.R. visit settles my pain enough that I can handle it at home for many months.
Chewing is a trigger for me and someone here (sorry, I forget who it was) suggested sipping liquids through a straw. It has helped me get some smoothies and soup down provided they are room temp.
Try a straw and see if that helps a little.
