Myofascial release - a few months later

So, a few months down the line, and I definitely want to keep this up. I had to changetherapist, and this one takes a much more direct approach. We have discovered a very strong connection between my face and the fascia (connective tissue) in the neck, which causes me a few days of pain if she treats it like she would a non-TN patient. We are currently going for a whol body approach, with only 4 mins of gentle treatment on the neck, and then work along my spine the rest of the time, plus some upper back massage. the therapist is very skillful, and I will go on with this treatment in any case, just because it is so comfortable. Have not had one pain free day in months, and really need something to take away tension. Also, just had a month holiday (full of a/c, grrr), and really want to know what a prolonged period of treatment can do for me.

Will report further once I have more to say.

All the best for your treatment. I am also preparing for my myofascial release with the help of an expert physiotherapist in Burlington. I had tried both trigger therapy and pain medications. But both of them didn’t give a permanent relief. So my therapist suggested an MFR treatment. Hoping for the best!

Thanks, Deborah. All the best to you too. It is so relaxing in any case that I doubt anything can be wrong with trying. Just a caution: Be very apprehensive about them working directly on your face, which they might suggest. be sure to tell them theminute you feel pain. Ihve had pain reactions for up to two days because I let it go to far.
