Microvascular decompression (MVD) surgery for TN

Dear members,

At the institute in India where I am working as a neurosurgeon, my main interest lies in treating the patients of complex brain tumours and TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA patients and patients of hemifacial spasms. It has been a sort of passion for me for the last 10 years to progressively perfect the art of the MVD surgery.
As I have said in my previous blog, there is no better joy for me than to see a trigeminal neuralgia patient pain free.
I believe that the success of the MVD surgery lies in the focussed attention of the operating surgeon on the technique over the years and correct selection of the patients.
I am aware that most of the countries have medical insurance and specific referral rules which cannot be bypassed. Without sounding to be marketing my passion and expertise, I would like to put some facts in front of the members so that if anybody is stuck due to the regulatory or financial hassels to undergo the MVD surgery,
I may be able to help them.
1. the total cost of the surgery here is around 1,700 to 3000 US Dollars depending on which room they choose to get admitted in (semiprivate, private , executive suite etc)
2.We operate around 4 to 6 MVD surgeries every month and till now have a success rate of 96 to 97 %
3.Our operating theatres are equipped with the best of the instruments and microscopes.
4. the infection rate is less than 1% which is comparable or even slightly better than any center in the world.

for non affording Indian patients of TN, we have a trust which partly funds the MVD surgeries.

Let me make it clear again that my intention of posting this information is that ,should there be any one not getting the opportunity to to gain an access to the correct treatment, anywhere in the world, there is no need to suffer if he or she is ready to spend 10 to 15 days in India.
