I also wanted to say I was on Tegratol alone for one and a half years.
It helped more than anti inflammatories and pain meds However the
Fuzzy head side effect makes it hard to work. Now I have mirror pain
On the right side. I thought I was going (more) crazy until my new
Neurologist reminded me that the peripheral nerve pain
Has become centralized. In other words the pain has become so
Constant and intense that the pain has been transformed
From peripheral to central. I also have headaches now
And he is very concerned about getting my pain
Under control or he says it will continue to escalate. He started
Me on neurotic as it has a larger therapeutic window and
I could take more with breakthrough. However it made me dizzy.
Not good for work. This combo both at a lower dose
Seems better tha either alone.
Yes, some patients do better on a combination of two anti-seizure drugs, or an anti-seizure and a tricyclic antidepressant. However (tongue in cheek), I doubt that your doctor started you on "neurotic" You impress me as quite sane.
