Low dose naltexone

Not sure why more people with with tn or any type of facial pain do not try low dose naltrexone. At the very least it should help with the depression that comes with the pain.

A lot of people use opioids as breakthrough medications, and you have to be completely opioid free to use low dose naltrexone.

I tried it once. I wish I could say it helped. My doctor was surprised when I told him it didn’t. I take Demerol. Which I am and am not really happy about. I’m very sensitive to opioids and it’s the only one I can take without throwing up. Demerol gives me energy which is great, but messes with my sleep. Sleep is like gold. So, it’s a use in moderation med for me.

I tried low does Naltrexone and it did not provide relief for my TN Type 2 pain. Everyone is different and I wish you well in your search for an answer that works for you.
