Little Blessings

My Mini-Monsters (children) have been amazing through all this. They usually know my pain level before I allow myself to realize it. They have seen me just stop out of the blue, start crying, grabbing my face and grimace. When that happens they all (3) launch into action. One goes for the pills, one gets the water and one leads me to a place where I can rest. They figured this out on their own. They are amazing.

After I had Gamma last year, my 12 yr old son started telling people "Mom's brain has been fried." because I started forgetting things or asking the same question over. He is the comedian in our family. They all tease me about the odd changes such as no taste buds, short term memory, spelling, not knowing words of simple things. They joke about not asking mom for help with homework because I have forgot how to do it. They still ask for my help but I am honest with them if I can't think of how to do it. They understand.

They have seen the effects of the pain, the drugs and Gamma. They are smart mini's. They love me and do their best to take care of me so I can do my best to take care of them.

What a great bunch of kids, you must be very proud of their thoughtfulness and sensitivity. I’m sure that they’ll turn out to be better adults because of this.
