My dad had MVD surgery yesterday for left TN. He is still in the same amount of pain post op as he was before surgery. From all of the research I’ve done, the pain is usually pretty immediately relieved. Just curious of other patients’ experience 24/48 hours post op.
I am not eligible for MVD, so I can’t answer your question, but I hope things go well for your Dad. From the years of reading posts I do know that for a few people they find more MVD relief about a week after because of swelling pressure on the nerve immediately after. It is not a great sign if he doesn’t wake up with relief, bit it isn’t totally hopeless either, from what I know.
