I am also looking to find out information on job security. I am lucky to have a boss I can openly talk with on this, however, I am overwhelmed with information on ADA, FMLA, STD, LTD, SS... etc. Does anyone have advice on what has worked for them, while maintaining a strong career, good health care, protecting your rights, while keeping your boss and co-workers happy? I have great health care, and do not want to lose it, plus, I can not afford not to work. I am currently on STD (Short Term Disability) that will run out next week. I am very new to this; any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you! I will certainly check out these options. I didn’t know if people found that working with TN was not a problem, while on medicine, or if they (you) found it to be difficult or impossible.
OPoooo- well I was fired in July. Working my arse off with specialists to get disability approved, and thank goodness my mom has been able to support me a bit and pay for Cobra, until disability gets its act together- most of which I pay my mama back with.
Thank you so much every one for your wonderful comments! I am so sorry to have taken so long to replay. I have had two major spine surgeries since the MVD-my last one just 3 weeks ago-so 3 major surgeries in 6 months. Talk about exhausted. The MVD was 100% worth it. No Pain, expect little reminders- I am still on a ton of meds though for my spine surgeries, so I don't know what it will be link with no medicine. Still, amazingly better. So, with 3 major surgeries, and no certain recovery date, my work could no longer allow a year long leave of absence.
