So I noticed in the mirror recently that my face looked a little droopy on my left (TN)side of my face. It was really bugging me so I got out some of my pics prior to my TN pain and snapped a horrible selfie to compare. At first I thought I must have been taking the picture weird but after taking and retaking the pic a bunch of times my face is definitely drooping significantly. Is this related to TN? Could it be a side effect of the medication? I currently am taking both tegretol and lyrica. I don’t need something else to stress me out right now. I am already upset about still being off work( it’s been over a month) and coming to grips with this “new” very different person I have become. Now I look odd on top of it all
Some advice please!
Yes it is part of the TN . I recently visited my neurosurgeon and one of the questions
he asked is if my face drooped at times. Yes my face has drooped not all the time but some times.
It's hard to adjust but keep checking on this site for advise. These people are amazing and supportive.
If you need prayer please friend me i'd be honored to intercede for you.

It is possible to get facial numbness just from having TN. I did, and I notice a difference on my right side. Particularly when I look at my eyelid. It looks kinda droopy. But nobody else notice's it. JUST me. So try not to stress over it. and if all else fails meditation may help take your mind off of it......and Teg and Lyrica are a pretty tiring combo sooo they could be doin it to ya..
You are not alone.. Stay Strong. Hang in there. Sleeping in a recliner can reduce facial puffiness too. I don't sleep flat for that reason. Plus I'll get bad headache pain, if I do..
Take care. Min
I get facial drooping often with TN. Mine is very noticeable especially around my eye.
Just hang in there and know you are not alone!
I discovered this a couple of weeks ago. I noticed in some pictures that I was looking at. Just over the past year it has changed. It's not drastic but it is noticeable.
