October 7th is a special day for Tn sufferers and I was wondering how you are acknowledging the day? I have been interviewed by a local paper already and will be interviewed by a city paper which is syndicated next week. I want to increase awareness of TN. My way of thinking is that awareness leads to research which God willingly leads to a cure or at least better treatment. So tell me, whats happening in your area?
Hi Patty,
That’s really great you’re doing interviews!! It’s all about spreading awareness!! Our local TN support group has been contacting radio stations and Local TV news stations. Our high level bridge is lighting up teal again this year. My husband designed new t-shirts for this year and we’re gathering at a local park on Oct. 7th for coffee, donuts and hot chocolate to watch the bridge light up. We’ll have ribbons and bracelets for sale as well.
Last year was our first event and we had a few tv stations come interview us. As a result of the exposure our support group grew to 25 people it was amazing!
I’m currently working on getting local Mayors to proclaim Oct. 7th International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day .
I checked the tnnme website the other day and there are over 80 buildings, monuments and waterfalls lighting up Teal on Oct. 7th! It’s amazing!
Fiddlebach is in the Vancouver area and they’re doing a teal lantern walk, several places in the area are lighting up teal there.
You’re absolutely right !! Awareness leads to research and eventually a cure!
Thanks for starting this thread
