I am from EGYPT with trigeminal neuralgia 3 months ago after dental procedure.
i am not good, no body believe the tense of that pain, the pain is higher than what i can tolerate.
what i am suffering is Unbelievable, Opioids is almost impossible to get here.
but after long thinking it is a good reason to "THANK GOD" by the way iam christian orthodox
why it is a good reason to thank god? because everyone feel some pain or suffer thinks that "it is too mush to deal with" until he tries more tens pain or suffer .
so there is always worse .... then .... it is a good reason to say thank God :)
ok, first i need help in two issues :

I like chatting and talking to myself :) do you believe this is normal :) hehehe
finally it has been 5 days now without that PAIN and that is good hope
by the way i am not a doctor but i am an engineer, i have noticed that pain affected by B12 injections 1000 Micro every 48 hours.
I am very far from Egypt but I think the bond we experience in having TN makes the world a smaller place! I have never met anyone face to face that also has TN but I find a lot of comfort in the connections I have made here. I'm glad to hear you had 5 days with no pain! I have ATN so I haven't had that long of a stretch in years. I hope you are still doing well!
I really feel for you it's hard and if you can't opioids well believe this it's very hard to get them in the USA. So I have visited Egypt many years ago, while my parents were living there. We met many wonderful people there and visited many beautiful sites.
This is a very painful condition as you experienced first hand and chances are it will return. The site here under the face pain info has some of the best information anywhere that I've found. If you can get your hands on a copy of Striking Back by Amazon or if people visit maybe you can ask them to buy then bring you a copy. It is for many of us a go to guide on options from surgery to drugs that have been found helpful. If you can't get it most folks here will help you and point you in the right direction on what you can do.
You mentioned B12 shots and I've used those, but now use pills. There is a whole section in the book provided by Dr. Lemole the father in law of Dr. Oz who you may have heard of. His program uses vitamins and minerals along with a diet with exercise to help. That might be one route and/or the many medications you can try that are not opioids. There are other options for example my go to crisis trick is using a screaming hot towel, but for some it's ice. Being an engineer you had to study hard and basically now you will have to study this disease. Then start figuring out from what you can get your hands on what works and what doesn't. Most folks start on in one form or another an anti seizure medication, old anti depressants and for some opioids. If there is some good news not being able to get opioids might not be a big game changer, because it works for some and not for others.
Maybe the dentist can assist you or a primary care Doctor. Either way finding this site was your biggest ally in getting information and what has worked or not. It's very individual so don't give up, because some combo should give you some relief if not complete relief.
If I can help let me know. I say that, but most of what I know is from this site. It's wonderful and even more up to date than the book. You will meet many great people who are in the same boat and that has also helped me get through many a rough night and day. Good Luck! Let me know how you are doing.
I’m so sorry your suffering like this, while I’m a world away from you, may I ask have you ever tried taking Prednisone? That’s what I’m on right now. I know, I know, no one likes this drug on the long term but it actually lessens the severity of my pain ( attacks) I actually have constant all day pain with major attacks throughout the day.
I also take opioids, they work very well for me alongside the prednisone. But you can’t take them when the pain starts you have to take it throughout the day so that it minimizes the pain. Notice I say minimize. But hey, if you can go from horrific electrocution to shocks then it works.
Try to speak to your Dr about the prednisone.
I am touched, What a kind people you r .... i believe pain make people see things from more positive prospective.
Thanks for every one of you ...
sometimes i feel happy by talking and expressing what i feel "even with god : )"

Well you are welcome. People help each other get through this disaster of a disease and there is plenty of information. I would say that finding someone who is struggling with this that might have job connections in Egypt is a stretch. Many of us have trouble leaving the house and or keeping house and for example I'm on disability due to TN.
I realize our sense of humor is different, but I'll give it a shot. The only connections I'm making these days are with Doctors. I now know more about the medical industry than I ever imagined!
Let me ask you this, are you able to travel? I spent some time in Beirut, Lebanon and happen to know that the American University Hospital there is very good. Its just a thought, since you say the Doctors by you are not helpful, its something to think about
On another note, I talk to myself all the time, lol.. most times im the only one that listens! :))))) hehehehe :))))))
keep us all updated and i pray that you have a pain free day

Just want to add to what others have said. Wife and I really feel for you. It's been such a long and hard battle for us in the US. Can't imagine going through it in Egypt.
Stay strong! Don't listen to doctors telling you it's a psychological condition, as many are likely to do.
