I had my consultation on Wednesday and there was an opening for surgery going to today so I took it. Because of this website I had the confidence to make the decision. I’m excited and afraid but too afraid not to have the surgery. I am at Stanford Hospital with Dr. Wilson Asfora. He has a patent for several tools that he designed for this surgery. I will have a 6 Hour Dr. home so I am going to ask to stay for an extra day. I plan on doing well. Thank you for sharing your private pain and thoughts
Missy, prayers all go perfectly for you. Keep us updated when you can. I have not been on this site as much due to having a rough month myself. When I logged on, I saw your post. Hoping for a smooth surgery and safe travels as well. Thinking of you! Hugs
Good luck. My prayers are with you . I am sure you will do just great!!
Good luck!
Hope all goes well!
I'm thinking you of today as you recover!
You are in my thoughts today Missy - can't wait to hear back from you
I had my MVD surgery was painfree for 1 daY and the pain came back with jaw numbess. The surgergon thinks the MVD was not successfull and is now atypical pain. He said no more surgery but a pain pump. I am freaking out and heavily medicated.
Missy,
I'm so sorry you are having that experience. I had my MVD last May and it did not work either. You are not alone. I began to experience a lot of anxiety after my surgery and have found anti-anxiety meds to be extremely helpful in managing this as the anxiety seems to increase the pain. I'm here if you need to chat. You are in my thoughts and prayers. -Laura
Dear Missy,
Time, rest and healing may bring you additional relief, try not to freak out just yet, the added stress will only hinder your recovery.
One day at a time… Many people after MVD have encountered a reduction in pain as they heal from the surgery. I pray that is the case for you…sending positive energy and (( hugs )) take care of you and concentrate on recovery one day at a time! Mimi xx
