I had Gamma Knife procedure in Feb. and my pain has returned. I was wondering if anyone has had a second GK procedure and how soon after the first one did they have it and did it help? I have already had a MVD and they said another one was not really an option.
I had gamma knife twice one year apart. The first time it didn’t work. It has been a year since I had it the second time. I am doing just great and am on no medication whatsoever now. Was taking 2000mg of tegretol for many years and am so glad I don’t use it any more. Good luck!!
Thank you Tim I hope it is successful. I am currently on 1800-2400mg of gabapentin and 600 mg of Oxcarbazepine a day and 150 mg of Topamax. The pain is under control again for the moment. I see the doctor later this month to see what options I have.
I have ATN and was advised by Baptist Hospital that there was only 25% success for me. I had MVD at Duke in 2012 and for the last year got some relief. Although I don’t really credit the surgery. I quit almost all my meds lately and just watch TV and read and stay close to my family. It is not a good life but I find protecting myself from stress works better than putting poison in my body.
