How do we make an official TN ribbon- and what color should it be?

I vote for ‘RED’ - fire engine ‘RED’ for the burning pain, you can add in yellow lightening bolts to symbolize the jolts of electric shock endured by this horrible disease…

Just wondering if there is an official TN awareness ribbon and what color it is.

Seems Most are solid colors for all other diseases

--- I think ours should be stipplied - dotted with tiny dots of red yellow and green

Red for the immediate pain

Yellow for okay times

And green for remission!

covered in dots - because in a lifetime you will go thru these - could go through these many times each

I don't think you would want to use a color from another awareness ribbon (ie red, pink, etc).

How about white with little red lightning bolts through it?

Definitly red though for pain.

I do like kc dancerkc idea...hits it perfect. :)

just my thoughts

Greetings All,

My thoughts on the ribbon would be to divide it into two themes. The bottom half I would make that of a "firestorm" of a forest fire, blackened trees or embers with angry orange flames signifying the constant burning/boring pain. The top half I would make with a background of blue sky with lightning bolts raining down, signifying that the lightning bolts of pain can come at any time "out of the blue"

Yes, Scott's would get people to ask -- what the hell is that cause! Get the conversation going!

One common suggestion is the red and the yellow. Why not a 'Red Ribbon with a Yellow Stripe'? Possibly place a T and N on the Ribbon.

I have found there are many who confuse Trigeminal Neuralgia with Fibromyalgia. There should be something we can do to peak awareness and understanding.

great idea...

i've always imagined Munche's "SCREAM" (http://www.google.co.il/imgres?q=monk+scream&um=1&hl=iw&amp..."

as a good face to describe TN pain.. also the face in the picture kinda reminds the shape of a ribbon in my humble opinion.

I have been thinking of this for 2 days. I love that my imagination has just gone wild on this one. Lol! I spend a LOT of time trying to maintain my sense of humor as well as "manage the monster"( I heard it first from albee). As anyone with TN knows, both are big chores.

I imagined black ribbon for the mental state I am in during peak pain and this evil little devil with big pointed teeth with a fiery swords in one hand and Lightning bolts in the other. Square in the middle of his chest appear the letters TN!

I'd like to catch it and put an end to the madness, wouldn't you!?!....

Oh YES -- The scream! LOVE IT!

Is the scream copywrited?

I like all the ideas. I hope one is created soon. I also hope by brining awareness to this something from a horror show disease more research will happen to find a cure. Personally I’d like to know what triggered mine in the first place.

Since we wouldn't sell it for profit -- I wouldn't think the use of The Scream would not be treated as such.... same as public domain -- unless somebody owns it - the copywrite - like a museum - then you just sign off you are not using it for profit?

--- there are more than one version --- the one just sold for $120 MILLION!

Anyone a legal sluth here?

Kc,

I recently used a logo for non-profit and obtained permission from the owner in writing. If it is copywrited I would obtain permission from the owner. I believe they would be happy to give it for the cause. This is a sue happy world and lets cover our backsides. If it is public domain then that would be great. Either way I think it could be a profound symbol for tn. Lots of good ideas, keep them coming. I am not in the legal profession, just being cautious. I echo your call for some legal advice before using it.

Scott

In a previous life I was in graphic arts --- I could make some prototypes if anyone can share the legal aspects of the scream -- or what I would do with the final one after a vote?????

I have read all the comments and it got me thinking of how a ribbon might look. It's a rough draft but might be something to work off of. I like kc dancers kc idea of the stippled three colors, but haven't figured out away to put it in yet, maybe a border. Anyway I had fun playing with the design and might give someone else an idea to run with. I envisioned it as a lapel ribbon as well as a ribbon for the back of cars etc.

Scott

I know it sounds silly but I would like to get a ribbon tattooed on me but as of yet it seems we dont have one. Does anyone know if we have one yet?
