Has anyone used Dilantin before how good does it work and how bad are the side effects

I took Dilantin and it worked well for me. When I was in the Hospital pre op for my MVD Surgery they increased it and it really worked/No Pain. I thought they wouldn't do the surgery, but I opted to do it anyway. I did not want to be on gabapentin and dilantin. The side affect I felt were, blurry vision, unbalance and forgetfulness. Since I was on both I'm not sure what side affect was from what, but they all have side affects. You will just need to weigh the pain vs. the side affect. That is what I had to do and believe me, when was in pain I didn't care, I just wanted to stop. I hope this helps a little.
