Had something happen yesterday

I have not had a period since 2008 and yesterday I got up and it had started again. I had an ablation in 2008 because I started and did not stop for about 3 months and I am afraid that is going to happen again.. I was wondering if the medicine that I am on could have caused it to start again. I am on gabapentin and oxcarbazapine. If anyone has any information for me I would be really thankful. I called my neurologist and he had never heard of that happening but I think I have read somewhere that one of these medicines thinned the blood and if I am having my period will that happen with that.

I haven't had a period in a really long time. We ran dozens of test and everything is normal.

My doctor thinks that it's not from the meds directly, but more from the weight gain caused by the the meds. Estrogen is stored in your fat, and when you gain weight you store more estrogen. So then your progesterone levels need to raise higher than normal to trigger ovulation. But your progesterone levels don't increase on their own. That's why when a doctor wants to induce a period, they prescribe progesterone. That makes the levels rise and voila, a period.
