Glycerol injections -- a question from charlie1

Seenie from Modsupport here, posting for charlie1:

Has anyone here had a response to a glycerol injection after 6 weeks?

I been getting them every few months for about a year now. They help me alot. They do wear off before my insurance will cover the next round. So I just had the balloon compression done this last thurs. I hope it gets better. Only time will tell. Hope this helped

From what I’ve observed in 20 years of talking with chronic face pain patients, if you haven’t had a response to glycerol injection within six weeks, it’s not likely that this procedure will “kick in” at a later time. However, be advised that some patients report having had a successful Glycerol injection on the second time around, after a failure on the first.

This procedure is generally the least persistent of all ablation procedures, tending to last a few weeks to a year. Balloon compression may last up to two or three years, rarely beyond that point.
