Found my TN Cause

Thought I would update as I have not posted in a while. I had my MRI finally after wrangling with the insurance company for about a month. I hadn’t heard anything back from the Neurologist so I assume everything was fine. I got the call last Monday that I needed to come in at 8 am on Tuesday morning to meet with the dr about my MRI. That Tuesday I was diagnosed with adult onset hydrocephalus and tomorrow I meet with my neurosurgeon to discuss placing a shunt in my brain to relieve the pressure and excess fluid that is accumulating on my brain. Not exactly the answer I wanted, however, if it will alleviate the pain in my face I am all for it. Hope everyone is having a good week and your TN is being as quiet as possible.

Goodness! I am glad that they found this, and that you are taking care of this. When did you say your symptoms began? Hopefully your pain will STOP!!!

You, and all of us who are on this web site will be in my prayers each night.

Wow, hope that relieves your pain! Please keep us posted on how this goes for you. Wishing you the best also.

Holy Crap! So glad you had that MRI. Keep us posted on what happens. Certainly not what you wanted to hear but now you have a direction to go towards getting control of it.

My fingers are crossed for you.

Wow that’s just terrific!! Keep us informed

Good luck.:raising_hand_man:

I really am glad you found out.Shunts are now something fairly common.I remember when my son was born with Spina Bifida that a shunt was something that might be needed.
Did you know the first shunt was designed by a plumber to help his child who was born with Spina Bifida?
There is a group called Spina bifida and Hydocephalus association and they do great work with adult onset hydocephalus now. Please look them up online and find stories that will bring you comfort. So glad that you found out.

Good luck and quick recovery to you.

Lacy, thank you so much for posting this update. This might not be the easiest news but thankfully there’s a solution.

It must have been frightening on Monday to get the call to be on Tuesday by 8 am – I know I would have imagined the worst! Thankfully this is not the case and there are some good options here. May your recovery from surgery be swift so you’re right back to your regular activities in no time and your pain relieved!

Sending warm regards and a hug.
