I have finally started to get some relief over the last week or so. I am still having to use the fentanyl patches for pain but I have moved myself to a lower dosage and I am not having to take near as much hydrocone for the break through pain. Immediately after the surgery i had numbness in my forehead to just about an inch under my left eye. Now for some reason the whole left side of my face is numb which is what has helped with the pain. Kinda wierd how it would become numb after all this time but YIPPIEEE, I’ll take pain relief however it comes. I am going to go to pain management to see what if anything else can be done to help manage the pain better. I want my life back or atleast some simblance of it. My surgeon said there is nothing more that can be done other than cutting the nerve which I do not want to do he said it is just going to be a matter of time hopefully.
I am finally starting to really get over the surgery itself as far as my energy level. I never dreamed how much the surgery would take a toll on my body. A couple weeks ago I was having to use the handicap cart to go to walmart or the grocery store. Now I can actually walk the store, mind you I still have to take a break or to but it is a major improvement for me. No more having to use a cane because I get soooo weeeak! I am optimistic the surgery is going to be a success it is just going to require patience which is the one thing I have never had. One of my flaws but the mri still showed alot of imflamation and I have already been on several rounds of steriods so time it is.
Jamie how is your pain? I see you are off the tegretol so you must be doing better. Glad to hear it. Hope everyone has a pain free day tomorrow!
