Facial Numbness after MVD Surgery

Hi,

I had MVD surgery 3 months ago on 6/19/2014. Surgery was a success, no TN pain right after surgery, and I was off all meds after one week post surgery. I did experience total numbness on the right side of my head (everything was numb..face, eye, tongue, lips, teeth, etc...TOTAL FROZEN). It freaked me out. My surgeon said it will take about 3 months for it to go away. It is now 3 months and it has not completely go away. It has gotten a lot better as far as the only areas are numb are my lips, teeth and cheek. I feel a small bubble is floating around my lips and cheek 24/7. It is a weird and uncomfortable feeling. It feels like the bubble is trying to find a place where it can burst and all the numbness will go away. Sometime it feels like the small bubble does burst, but then instantly it forms again. Has anyone experience this? If you have experience facial numbness after MVD, please let me know how long it takes for the numbness to totally go away. At this time, I may not even mind a little numbness, but that constant bubble moving around my face and lips is driving me nuts. It's hard to fall sleep at night unless I'm extremely tired because that floating bubble is very distracting.

Also, is there any medication I can take to help the numbness go away?

Nina
