I don't know if this would be related to TN or ATN, but when I was younger.. like early teens, even childhood, I had twitches in my right eye/upper eyelid. They usually happened before storms, especially severe ones. I remember it happening even during winter. This is long before I ever had the pain related to TN. Anyone know if that could have been a precursor?
thats interesting because i have suffered with that for a few years now, sometimes prior to a headacke but otherwise for no reason that i could see - my gp - at the time - told me it was stress related - hmm - maybe it is to do with the TN
I had completly forgotten about the twitching eyes. I remember in my late teens having this on the same side as my GN. I don’t recall the last time I had it happen, but it was before my GN pain for sure.
Interesting, and thanks

I didn't develop eye twitching until my TN started. I would get twitching on my left eyelid and sometimes the bottom part of my eye (same side as my pain) before, during and/or after the pain started. I had MVD surgery a couple of months ago and I still get the twitching except w/o the pain. My NS said it's now a type of phantom pain now. (Kinda like how some people can get migraine auras w/o an actual migraine.) I read that the twitching can be the "tic" part of tic douloureux (TN). I've also had the corner of my left upper lip twitch.
I have migraines too. I've battled seeing auras pre-migraine for years, since childhood actually. though the auras could be indications of flares as well, but I usually stave mine off by taking a pain reliever at the aura phase. If I let it go past aura.. i'm in trouble and nothing helps. I just hope our weather patterns settle the hell down. this not sleeping is for the frigging birds.. LOL.
This past storm here in the NorthEast (US) made my life miserable! No TN pain (I had a MVD in Nov) but I've had terrible headaches. Haven't slept much either. I have migraines as well, but this pain is different. I feel your frustration Elayna.
