I am just wondering if any of you have little muscle spasms on your face. I have them under my lip, under my eyes and sometimes my temples. They are little but I am wondering if they get worse for some people? Or if they become painful? I am also concerned that they are happening in the 1st branch because so far my pain has only been in branches 2 and 3.
I have bilateral Type 2 TN that is once again under control with Amitriptyline. It saved me again! So happy and thankful about that but now I am left with these weird little spasms.
Thanks :)
Just under my right eye. I can feel it everyday on and off. I've had ATN just over 2 years and these little flickering spasms started about 4 months ago. I've been thinking how weird this is so at least now I know someone else has these little spasms too .. but sorry to hear it's happening to you:(
justjane are you the person who has TN in your family? I think I remember you saying that and I also had a grandmother who I was told suffered from neuralgia.
Hi Obsidian,
I am sorry you are going through this as well.
I do have it in my family. I am the fourth person. I haven't come across many people that have other family members with TN.

I began getting muscle spasms. I'm not sure if I would call them spasms like the eye twitches I get when I'm fired up, worried or just wiped out. I felt entire groups of facial muscle move slowly and smoothly all the way up my face. It is a very odd painless sensation, and not the typical fast twitch. It only happened a handful of times until my doc put me on Baclofen. Now I don't have any.
That sounds like what I get. Sometimes I have them all day. Every few minutes and a bunch in a row. They are not painful but are strange.
I am just curious if they get worse or can become painful.
Baclofen. A muscle relaxer. I just looked that up and it can be used for TN. I have so much to learn about TN. Never a dull moment. I'm glad it is helping you :)
