Today I had my teeth cleaned which was not a pleasant experience. My eye kept watering, but I'm used to much worse pain so I didn't think that much of it. I also have been occasionally getting pain in my eye and it waters. I've been wondering if this is part of my TN, but can't be sure. Today I think the eye was watering b/c my teeth hurt. Anyway, my hygienist informed that i need to start using an electric toothbrush. So I ran over and bought one not thinking it might trigger the pain. I used it for like 30 seconds and the battery wasn't charged enough so it stopped working. Then the rest of the evening I had TN2 pain in my teeth. I'm worried I aggravated it or something. Have any of you been able to use an electric tooth brush? If so, which one?
There is no dumb question. Having TN is so painful to say the least (very least) I don't know which end is up sometimes. I think you are brave to have tried the electric toothbrush. I have a hard time to even brush with a regular toothbrush when I am having attacks and then having the lingering pain and feeling that my teeth are being pulled out with pliers and drilled at the same time. It brings me to my knees. I am currently in that situation now and have not brushed my teeth at all this week and they feel so disgusting but knowing I will hit the trigger points I won't do it until that nerve really settles down to even brush lightly. I'm praying that will be this weekend. I'm trying not to talk or eat to let it rest.
I'm sorry for the pain in you eye. I haven't experienced that and I praying that I won't but a number of people here have.
It takes some time to find what works. It's so fustrating because sometimes one thing will work this time but not the next.
Does your hygienist understand TN? I'm not saying this to be rude, but many are not familiar with TN, so she might not understand how easily it could be triggered. Best of luck.
