Dr. Ken Casey --- Trenton Michigan - worth the flight from Missouri!

The author of Striking Back book!! He learned under the Dr. who invented MVD

I emailed him for TN specialists in my area -- and he - as well as my neurologist here in Kansas City, said there really are not any

I looked at Insurance book - he was listed for me. I needed a consult as Trileptal was ruining my life and all other doctor had to offer was a 4th med trial.

Dr. Casey emailed back and forth for a month, answering all my questions,

sent me pain surveys, and pre-op paperwork via email - when I was ready --- which was not long

I met him the day before surgery - for in person consult - I had watched videos of him and liked his demeanor, knowledge and humor..... I think he could do MVD's in his sleep. He does do other procedures and works with hard to fix cases.

Mine was pretty simple -- TN1 - found 2 compressions,he was initially worried about my hearing testing during surgery and was honest with me about it when I woke up. It turned out fine.

Everyone at that medical center Lovvvves him --- and EVEN people who were not successful MVD's with him, STILL praise him. -

My one year anniversary is not till Oct. 2012 - but I believe with all my research - since I was a good candidate and did it sooner than later -- my prognosis is good.

Thowing away meds - at lowest dose now === next month! It's what I want.

He is just an email away --- no nurse phone tag!!!!!!

He is very busy and does travel for lectures etc. but always answers soon as possible.

Kimberly

Don't understand why this ended up on main board -- thought it was only for the doctors thread : )

Hi KC, Congrats on doing so very well!!! I have TN 2 after dental procedures. I have had two MRIs and an MRA locally. No compressions were found. My local neuro says that since he is convinced that it was due to trauma and I have other medical concerns like Sjorgrens Syndrome, it is highly unlikely I can have any procedures. Do you think I could write Dr Casey to see if he agrees? I gather an MVD is out, but was wondering about other things. Did you write him via email? Is he still in Michigan?

Hi, Dr. Casey does not do MRI's to look for compressions -- only on patient story and pain scale form (google it - Mcgillpain scale) print off and fill it out for yourself first.

I have something like sjorgrens syndrome (auto immune disorder that affects my salivary glands

Dr casey will tell you if you can be helped by an MVD / or other procedures that he does

ALWAYS get second, third opinions -- my TN was caused by trauma -- Oral surgeon yanked my neck into whiplash while I was under -- TN 4 hrs later in the ER

google dr. casey --- dr. casey . net I think =--- he's in Trenton Michigan-- I think there is an office email and his personal email on there

any more questions - email me at kcdancerkc@yahoo.com
