Discussion about finding a neurological Surgeon and facility for MDV surgery

I am a new member to this forum and have had GPN for over a year now.

I am in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area and need to know if there is a neurological surgeon and a facility that can perform the MVD surgery procedure?

If not, then can someone tell me of a qualified surgeon and a facility in the TEXAS area (ie Houston, Austin or San Antonio).

Thanks in advance for the help!

Eggs, I am sorry I didn't see this discussion sooner. Have you found a doctor? These might be good places to start:

http://www.texasspineandneurosurgerycenter.com/trigeminal-neuralgia/

I know the second site mentions TN rather than GPN, but since they are experts in MVD, I imagine they can treat both.

Here is one more place to try, in Dallas: http://www.neurosurgerydallas.com/2_1_4_2.php

Eggs - I don’t know about any surgeons in TX, but I just had MVD surgery in Little Rock performed by an incredible surgeon at St. Vincent Infirmary. His name is Ali Krisht and he is amazing. I have had GPN since 2009. He diagnosed me in 2010 and eggs - I don’t

commented that I would know when it was time to consider surgery as an option. He was right ! After 4 yrs of different cocktails of several drugs, I knew that it was a last time. Drugs were not a cure and they were beginning to affect my quality of life and activity level. We considered going to the U of Pennsylvania where the technique was perfected, but after visiting w/ Dr. Krisht and checking his credentials, we knew he was the one. If you have any other questions or need more info, please don’t hesitate to ask…

Sorry! Had kind of a glitch in the middle of my reply. Hope you can make sense of it…
