I have type 1 and type 2 on right side with few stabs on left side. Last year had most my pain on left side before nerves were cut. Surgeon says he is reluctant to do mvb as i have bilateral but i am a bit reluctant on injections as i have read some stories that have been unsuccessful and even if it is successful the pain could be back this time next year. With my last op i was left with the numb face which is a lot better than having the horrific pain but its not great either...you dont know when you have food on your face, when your nose is running and keep chewing on your tongue!! So I think i would rather go ahead with the big op so i am pain free for rest of my life with no numb face and no horrible meds sounds bliss! i am just wondering what other peoples thoughts are on these procedures???
MVD - big op - is not a permanent cure at all -- it can come back in 5 weeks / 5 months / 5 years -- you see many here have had 2 MVDs. If you get an MVD - you have to make sure you have a top MVD surgeon - Top TN surgeon - not just any old neurosurgeon.
Even then...not permanent, but longer term less pain
or longer term pain free than many other options we have.
I would put glycerol injections in search box / and-or look on the tab called "groups" there is a group of people with experience with them. Keep learnig - THAT is your best bet!
