Diet

Has anyone noticed anything dietary that sets off or helps their TN? Does anyone have a bad reaction to caffeine?

I've always had a sweet tooth, but as of late I noticed my teeth hurt quite a bit when I munch on chocolate bars or sweets, sticky kinds with caramel are the worst. I'm not sure about caffeine, a year ago I thought it triggered more pain, now I actually like to down a pill of Tramadol with a cup of coffee - the pill seems to work faster and more effectively this way (I don't know why).

Yes, I've also noticed sugar and sweet things set off the pain in all my teeth even though I haven't very many teeth left but my gums still pain me,, and I cannot eat anything cold , I miss eating ice cream, I have to drink my tea with a lot of milk in it, and also I cannot drink water at all it really sets of the pain in my gums, other than that no particular foods affect me, except I am better when I'm not eating at all.

I just recently learned that caffeine will inhibit any antiseizure meds you are taking so they don't work as well. Sweets and cold are a problem here also.

Sweets, cold food or drink, hot food or drink. Anything crunchy is out of the question. Everythings got to be room temperature. Sad to say alcohol. I do enjoy my glass of wine in the evening. The meds are working enough so I am able to enjoy food right now though. I'm just very careful what I put in my mouth or I pay.
