Just had five dental implants placed to replace the healthy teeth I lost before TN diagnosis. Being six-months post MVD, I was scared to death that the procedure would somehow re-ignite my TN pain. After reassurances from both my neurosurgeon and oral surgeon, I decided to go ahead with the implant surgery. Although painful (five is a lot to do at one time), the procedure went well and I'm on the mend. No reoccurrence of TN pain at all--thank goodness!
Just wanted to let everyone know that there is help for those who have lost teeth while trying to find someone to make the correct diagnosis. Also to remind others--don't let anyone perform extractions or root canals on seemingly healthy teeth if you have the symptoms of TN. If you truly have TN, you will only waste your money and will not get relief! Make an appointment to see a neurologist instead.
