Cervical Plexus Block

Greetings. I haven’t started a discussion in a long time, and I’m hoping this blog post is now the right way to initiate a discussion…? If it’s not, can someone kindly redirect me. - thanks! Tomorrow I’m having a consultation with a pain management specialist to discuss a cervical plexus block. Has anyone ever tried this as a pain control procedure, and what was your experience amd results please. Was it done intraorally? Did it hurt? What were you injected with? Did it help and to what extent? How long did it last (results - not the procedure?) Is it a waste of time? I’m also concerned that the nerve itself will be “poked” and exacerbate rather than help. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who’s experienced this procedure or just your thoughts please. Than you! Hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi Nikki, this site has some diagrams / photos which may give an indication. I've had a few spinal blocks which were given in a similar manner to those in the link. Hope this helps. :) http://www.nysora.com/techniques/nerve-stimulator-and-surface-based-ra-techniques/upper-extremitya/3345-cervical-plexus-block.html

Smiley, WOWEEEE!!! Thanks for that link! Very informative and promising. I’m bringing the link to the doc and hoping he’s not offended that I’m going to tell him where to investigate with the needle. Thank you so much. I’ll let you know my progress. Thanks again.

Nikki D ,where is your pain located that they are going after it with this kind of block ?

Your welcome, I look forward to hearing how you go. All the best :)
