Pain blocks

Hi any fellow Canadians(and anyone else who wants to chime in)
What has been your experience with pain blocks?
My new neurologist did some things that she considers blocks(she was trained recently)
these were just done in her office. Two near my nose and one in my chin. The two near my nose relieved the pain that occurred after the lamotrigine reaction.
The one in the chin has removed the pain going up the side of one tooth-but it has left the pain in the gum and in the main tooth that burns and throbs.
These were NOT done through diagnostic imaging.Just a needle in the face.
I am leaving this doctor for other reasons.
But I think the pain blocks are the way for me to go.
I have asked the doctor to clarify exactly what she did so the next doctor knows exactly what has been tried.
So fellow Canucks-(and anyone else)how have you gone about it.Two years in and this was the first time someone tried this.
No one else seems interested.Maybe they thought I was content on the drug regime?
And what are the dangers?

My pain is in the chin and the tooth I have right above the chin.It almost feels that if a block had been done at one more spot I would be pain free.
But I don’t know.
I would like to be prepared for the next doctor.
What should I be asking?
Thanks
