I'm probably imagining this, but I swear I can feel a sore spot on the back of my neck, where all the photos online seem to indicate the trigeminal nerve comes from.
Have any of you felt something similar? When I rub it I get really light-headed, so I don't do that much.
Add onto that, I swear my left lymph node gets really swollen and sore when I'm having a bad pain day (my TN is on the left side). Am I alone in this? Anybody?
My left lower jaw is affected and the left hand side of my neck along the jaw line used to feel kind of full and swollen. My masseur explained to me that the muscles go into spasm because of hyper activity of the trigeminal nerve (the muscles can shorten over time if it happens often), it made sense. I taught myself how to gently massage the sore spots and it helped, temporarily. I had a teeth/jaw surgery a month back and since then the tension and the "fullness" of my neck and jaw seems to be gone, I'm still left with some pain but no where near to what it was prior to the surgery.
Thank you! My mom is paying for my to see a chiropractic person here soon and I'm hoping maybe that will help. It seems somedays like everything on my left side from my skull to my hips is so sore! I'm sure I am holding my body differently when in pain...it's even changed which side I sleep on!
