I'm now 10 days post nerve combing surgery. I seem to be recovering quite well although, I've gotta tell ya, this is no picnic.
In reading other accounts of post surgery follies, I see that many people have experienced blurred vision. My question is this - how long did it take for your vision to resolve? I know this is common so I'm not terribly concerned but I'd love some input on how long this is going to hang around.
I had MVD surgery Nov 25 and my vision is finally normal the past 2 or 3 weeks. The worst of the blurred vision was probably the first 3 weeks. Everyone's nerves repair differently, so there isn't a set time frame. Hang in there and remember that this will all be behind you soon.
In my case, I had a very serious case of Meningitis immediately following the MVD. Whether it was damage from the disease or a combination of surgery + disease, we are not sure, but after a year my vision is still blurry in one eye from time to time. I find that if I have worked or read for a couple of hours, my vision blurs. I have been unable to find out the exact cause of this blurriness.
I am 3 months post-op from my internal neurolysis. It took about a month for the blurry eye to resolve. My eye is still a bit dray, but over the counter eye drops work just fine.
I'm sorry to hear about your meningIitis, surfergirl. Have you recovered well otherwise?
Sarah, thank you for the information. I realize I'm still very early in my recovery but I want all the stupid little things to be gone now...of course. The clogged ear, numbness and blurry vision are just little bumps in the road but I want a smooth road dog gone it.
I go back to the center for healing to see the doc for my first post op nest week. I'm sure I'll get lots more information then.
