Been gone a while

Hi everyone! I've been mostly gone from here for a while. Just checking in from time to time. I am doing well on my meds, but being so tired all the time, I gained too much weight. So, I got sick of looking at myself and FINALLY decided to do something about it after I got back from vacation and feeling embarrassed on the beach. I got started around May 20th. I started using myfitnesspal.com to help me track my calories and exercise. It's coming off slower than I wanted, but it's coming off! I was down 10 pounds as of July 4th (I weighed a day early so I could eat what I wanted on that day, haha!). My next weigh day is Friday and I really feel like I've dropped another couple pounds. I am FINALLY starting to be able to SEE that I've lost. I still have about another 25 or so to lose, but I'm getting there. I did not realize just how WEAK I was until I started exercising. Now, I can feel myself getting stronger. I AM still tired a lot from all this Tegretol, but I MAKE myself exercise at least 5 times a week. Since it's summertime, I have been swimming a LOT. Needless to say, since I am staying much busier, I am not on the computer as much. But I wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. I hope everyone is doing well. Thanks Mimi! If you do check it out, look me up on there and we can be friends on there to motivate each other. I have several 40-something friends on there because most of the 20-something people on there act stupid and try to "rate" each other and all kinds of stuff. But it's so nice to be able to SEE what you're eating and how much you are burning during exercise. You take care too and I am so happy that you are still doing well. :-)

Good for you…this last 10 won’t come off…will have to slowwwwly restart with yoga for neck…I should be swimming…I pay gym a fat tax of $16 month …have not been going ?..or dancing enough! Zumba goddesses at the gym dance triple time! I have been to a few pole -yoga classes…LOLOL… Makes for funny stories!

Thanks for posting, it’s great to hear some good news.

I have recently started going to the gym in the hope of improving my health and while i can see it is going to be slow going losing weight I am forcing myself to get my rear end off the couch.
It is easy to give into the tiredness so you should be very proud of yourself for making the effort.
Enjoy the summer sun in the pool, it’s winter and cold in my part of the world so I am a little green with envy. Lol

Swimming really burns up some calories! I only have a 24 foot round pool, but I get the water going around really good, then I start swimming in the opposite direction......into the current. You stay in the same spot kinda like a lap pool and it will wear yo' butt OUT, LOL. I wanna see the pole yoga classes, hahaha!

Well Trish, it will be winter here while you are enjoying summer, I suppose, LOL! I was doing the Jane Fonda stuff but the ab exercises are making my hernia bulge, so I decided to lay off it for a while. I will have to figure out what to do when winter hits. The treadmill is just BORING, but I may have to suck it up if I can't find anything else. Zumba is fun too and you don't even have to do the moves right. Just move around real fast with some 2 lb. hand weights and you'll be sweating in no time! :-D
