Can anyone tell me what to expect with this surgery? Having it done Friday.

Hi Linda. I have a friend on another site who's had balloon compression and then radiofrequency ablation a few years after that. I emailed her and asked her how her balloon compression went and if she was happy with it, etc. I will let you know as soon as she gets back to me. What made the doctor suggest that one for you? I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Laureen
Go to search box above and put in balloon
and/or
go to groups tab and see if there is a balloon group!

Thanks for the idea, I will do that. Never thought about there being a balloon group. If so, after Friday I will be one of them lol

IF balloon group - read all you can and make sure this is for you! As best as we can anyway : )
Hi Linda. My friend got back to me on the balloon procedure. She said it did not work very well for her. Afterwards she was not numb in the right places. She was not able to go off her meds either. She said the radiofrequency ablation worked much better for her and lasted a few years before she had her mvd. I hope this helps. Just because it didn't work well for her doesn't mean it won't for you. Laureen
