Hi everyone I’m recently diagnosed with TN and awaiting the results of my MRI to see if I’m a candidate for surgery. Has anyone had a negative MRI but then had successful MVD ? Or is that it I’m on the pills forever ? Thanks
My first MRI showed :poss TN with vascular loop..., But later the neurosurgeon ordered a more specialized 3-D MRI and it showed it very clearly.
Thanks my results are Thursday - I can’t decide what would best - a picture of oh yes look that’s whats causing it now we can perform surgery. Or no sorry we don’t.
My first MRI showed nothing obvious, but I saw a neurosurgeon anyway. He used a very high resolution MRI which showed a vein pressing on my nerve on the right, and an artery pressing on the nerve on the left. I had surgery on the right in January and there was actually one nerve lying on top of the nerve, and another pressing up against it from the bottom. Even if they don’t see it on the MRI, it does not mean you are not a candidate for surgery. I hope you are seeing a doctor who is an expert in MVD, and wish you the best
