Just wanted to know if anyone experiences pain in back of tongue, throat, left ear and sometimes mouth for longer than thirty minutes? It is the very bad burning, hot, almost freezing pain that comes but when I have it I feel it’s always a 10. When they asks me at the pain doc how high my pain level has gotten I always tell them a 10 which then they tell me that is impossible. I say they don’t understand this pain. Has anyone had same problem when going to doctor, I feel they are doubting my pain. Do not know what to do.
You are describing my pain (only right ear) and it is constant. I was one of the lucky ones to find an ENT who knew what it was and how to diagnose. Treatment is another story. I don’t know how to add links to this site but there is a good article you can look for titled " An uncommonly common: Glossopharyngeal neuralgia " by P.M.Singh , in Annals of Indian Academy of Neurology, January-March 2013, Vol 16, Issue 1. Hope you can find it and a doctor willing to listen.
