Any advice on noritripyline for facial pain

Hi, at present only seen my local GP, and dentist, see maxillofacial at hospital in few weeks.

taken amitripyline firstly, but felt odd, dizzy on standing.

now going to start noritripyline, any one had success with this tablet with facial oain, and burning sensations in face

do you still take before bedtime, like amitripyline,

prescribed low dose 10mg.

not taking any other medcine, do these anti depressants work well on atn facial pain.

any advice most welcome

I take a fairly high dose of amittripyline and it seems to have helped, but then again I also take gabepentin and trilipetal. and have had acupuncture treatments. So I really don't know what has been working for me and too scared to try to find out. I'm on fairly high dose of amitripyline, so I split dosage to before bedtime and in the morning. Sometimes it takes a few weeks for side effects to fade (Ha, still waiting on the weight gain part to fade), so maybe, unless they are unbearable, it might be worthwhile top try to power through them.

I've been on Nortriptyline and it works great. It doesn't have the cognitive side effects that antiseizure meds do. But the weight gain is a problem. I have carbohydrate cravings like crazy. But not everyone has that side effect. At least I'm functional. I'm going to add topomax to see if it can offset the weight gain aspect. I'll stay on nortrip until it stops working or if I develop health problems from the weight gain. I've been on it about a year now.
