Medication doseage

Hello, very new to facial pain, have taken medication amtripyline low dose for past 3 weeks, not noticing any improvement or change in levels of syptoms,

does anyone know if the tingling,crawling sensations will decrease with this type of tablet.

and if increase doseage , would this dampen the sensations, see GP, next week.

so far coping on amtripyline no bad side effects, would prefer to continue with it, but really uncertain if works well on facial nerve pain, not keen to try anti convulsants, but need to address and find a good medication to stop the tingling,numb,crawling in side of face, and being woken very early by pulsating throbbing dull ache in gum/jaw.

If I am not mistaken there is information within this web site about Trigeminal Neuralgia and possible medication management issues. Every individual is different, I personally received a lot of relief with the anti-convulsive drugs. A Neurologist would be the best approach here. Getting comfortable is key with this disease. We all here have probably tried or have a cocktail of drugs to deal with the pain.
