Hi all! I just had the strangest occurrence when sending a message to another moderator who sent me a welcome message. I used the word "amazingly" in the email, and after pressing send, an message popped up which stated the use of this word would cause the message to go into a spam mail. Is this just a weird glitch? Have any of you ever experienced it? I could see it as being useful to prevent profanity and such, but it was so odd I wanted to ask about it.
Just ignore it and send your emails unedited, RueAnn. It happens to me all the time. It also doesn’t like the words “free,” “deal,” “work at home,” and “insurance,” and I am sure there are others. Just call it Ning entertainment.
All of us have seen that message at various times. Our site mails are monitored by a program that matches text against a "dirty word list". I believe the list is provided by the hosting application, NING. You might want to talk with Rosemarie, our administrator about the contents of that list. Even if your mail might be delayed a few hours, it won't be lost. It gets routed into a bit bucket for in-person review before release.
