5 episodes in 10 days in Dec 2015

So I haven't had an episode since December 11th. I'm taking 2 ayurvedic medicines, alkaline haldi (turmeric), clove water.

I've done away with tea and coffee totally for a year. (Even though the episodes continued,i haven't started that again because I know it causes acidity; and acidity triggers the pain)

Akanksha, I'm well in terms of the neuralgia. For your information, I live in Bemetera, a small district in Chattisgarh, India. My dals, rice and flour are all organic. A lot of the vegetables are clean, if not organic. many are organic like drumstick and the local green leafy veggies. We get fresh milk from indigenous (desi) cows. I eat cashew and makhanas roasted in ghee from the same cows. So, its actually medicinal. I do believe that ghee helps rebuild nerves ... in some way.

I had totally removed commercial processed foods/ snacks from my diet. But now I can have a biscuit or two with no episode.

I have stopped taking the homeopathic medicine. And started reducing the ayurvedic ones, too.

Things are looking good. It's been 4 months. Let's see. This is a process of discovery for me.

Thanks for the update Shiela. Good to hear you are doing well. Would love to hear more about your recovery and medications. This is a good place to connect and learn about this condition.

4 years on and still no pain. Something worked.

Very interesting to read about your diet, and so glad to hear that it is working for you. I also find that acid foods kick up my dental ATN . I figured this out when researching foods that are bad for the bladder–the same foods (such as coffee, chocolate, citrus fruits, etc…) are also the ones that affect my mouth. Makes sense as these are both mucous membranes with lots of nerves behind them.

I’ve given up all coffee, both caffeinated and decaf, for a while now and it helps. I also sleep a ton better, and better sleep leads to better days.

I agree that high quality ghee (butter) is good for you. It contains a lot of nutrients such as the fat soluble vitamins A, D and K that we need.
