It has been three weeks today since I had my mvd. Things have been good. I am still on meds but have lowered them. I get my staples out today!!!! It has been Over a year since I have been to the dentist and I think I may have a cavity( on the opposite of my tn) but nerves about going...i did make an appointment for next week Is it too soon to visit a dentist I am so after something will make the pain come back...even getting them clean makes me nerves...should I wait???????????
Hi Ayre. I feel very nervous about visiting the dentist in 2 weeks for a cleaning also. I had my radiofrequency procedure on March 1st of this year and have been doing very well. I've been reducing my meds and having no pain. The last time I went in for my cleaning 6 months ago it started my tn up again after I had been doing pretty well on my meds. I'm thinking about taking extra meds before I go and hoping that will help. It is very scary; however, I really would like to have my teeth cleaned. I always ask my hygienist to please be very gentle. But like I said it still started my tn up again the last time I went. You should probably talk to your neurologist and get his/her opinion on the matter.
Did u get your procedure done after your teeth cleaning or before when the came back
I had the procedure done after my last teeth cleaning. I had my mvd done in 2009. I'm not sure how long I waited before I had my teeth cleaned that time but I don't think it caused any problems for me.
I was wondering how you were doing, bet it will be nice to get the staples out! How is your energy level? Are you pain free? I’d be a little nervous about seeing the dentist too.
Is having laughing gas appropriate? I was reading on the Dental discussion how they did not recommending novocaine. I actually was thinking about it for my next cleaning. At least asking my Dentist about it,
Kathy i am pain free doing good got staples out Thursday i think i over did it yesterday imy incision is sore
thanks for suggestions i am going to tell them to lightly clean and pray i have no cavities
I printed off a google image of trigeminal nerves for dentist…she assured me needle would not go near any of them for that cavity!
Laughing gas…why didn’t I think of that…geez…will pay more! But I’ll just work overtime!
