Hi, I haven't posted yet because it seems that any questions I have the great people on this board have already explained the issues they have and have made me feel that I am not alone in this PAIN journey. The information that is given here has helped me so much to deal with this disorder (or whatever you call it).
The one question that I could not find is the medicine ZONEGRAN, my Neuo had me on 900mg of Trileptal with not much help so he changed it to zonegran, I have not heard of anyone that has taken it for TN and would like to hear from anyone who has taken it. (good & bad).
Thank you for letting me be apart of your little "world"
I used to take a nose spray called Imitrex for migraines, and I think it's similar to that. Does it help you? Do you take as needed or on a routine schedule?
I just started it tonight so I'm sure what the side effects will be, I have to take 1, 100mg pills at night for 7 days then 2 pills untill I see my Neuro on the 11th.

I just got a script of zonegran from my Neurologist to replace Topamax since the side effects were to severe. I also suffer from migraines. I am starting on 25 mg/day since I am prone to getting all the side effects. :)
Heather - How is it going for you? I also have anxiety, too. So, I'm hoping it doesn't make my anxiety worse.
I usally get all the side effects and find that I'm allergic to just about everything so I'm afraid to try anything new. I was on Trileptal and had one of the lesser know side effects of severe mood swings crying one minute and laughing the next I thought I was having a breakdown. One of the good things about my neuro is he has me seeing him every 2 weeks until we get the meds right.
So far not much difference in pain but my neuro has me increasing it weekly so far I'm on 300mg a day with another increase on the 17th. The only side effect I have noticed so far is lost of appetite, which can be good because I don't have to chew and cause more pain, but I just have to watch that I get some kind of nutrition. I hope I answered your questions if you have any more that I can help you with I will try to answer them
~Heather
P.S. I also have anxiety and panic attacks that I take lexapro for and it has not seemed to effect either
