In the U.S and outside the U.S
I'm not sure there is a single "best known" center of treatment either inside the US or outside. Generally, the members of the Medical Advisory Board of the US Trigeminal Neuralgia Association tend to be the best known practitioners. So where-ever they practice tends to become a "center" for this category of medicine. The current members of that Board can be found at http://www.fpa-support.org/about-tna/tnas-medical-advisory-board/
There are also practitioners and treatment centers outside the US. One way to find them would be to contact leaders of the TNA Support Network. The following is a current listing of the support groups in countries around the world: http://www.fpa-support.org/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/International_July2011.pdf.
Do I mis-remember or do you live in South Africa, Asmara? I may have you confused with someone else. However, here is very little support infrastructure in the continents of Africa and Asia. The following support contact is listed for Zimbabwe:

Thanks for posting this Red.... I would have never known that I am 45 minutes away from a premier medical center for TN.
Asmara,
Speaking solely for myself; I believe every "Treatment Center" throughout the world offers the same menu in the treatment(s) for Trigeminal Neuralgia.
Daughters are nice, I hope medications will keep your Mom's pain at bay.
Take good care, bob
I always wondered if someone like the President had TN/ATN, who/where would he/she be treated.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently came to the US for an operation for his TN in August this year but I dont know where or how it went.
Colleen McCulloch an Australian author suffers from TN and MS and had surgery in Sydney in 2010
The operation took 9 hours and she was in hospital for one month due to bad haemorrhage but made it through and is now at home recovering further.
She hasn't lost her memory or other functions and believes she is better than she was before because she is in no pain now.
It would be good to see more publicity regarding this condition then our friends relatives and colleagues would understand it better.

Crystal I cannot endorse what you say more. When I put something like this suggesting Mrs Obama or a member of the royal family would give this condition some public awareness it was much misunderstood as being political. I absolutely did not mean that at all. I just meant someone with enough “celebrity” to bring it to the publics attention. All the best with your quest Asmara.
