What should I do

I was recently diagnosed with tn. I have taken the max dose of medications for it today and I am in too much pain to function. My jaw is locked up. Should I go to the hospital and what will they do?

Get a good neurologist who deals with the disorder. The ER is sometimes the only choice when it becomes unmanageable. What they do depends upon their assessment. I so hope you get a resolution soon.

Thank you. I do have a neurologist but she is out of town this week and the nurse said there was nothing she could do for me. It is completely unbearable and I don’t feel as if I have another choice

Go to ER

BRING page from here on phone…or print out…

Face pain info

There is a crisis page

Ask for dillauded drip

Call your nurse back
And ask her to call in for you

Lidocaine face cream
And lidocaine mouthwash if needed

Or ER could write them for you
They can take the edge off

Be firm with neurologist!!

Or get a new one

Thanks everyone. Ended up going to the hospital and they told me there was nothing they could do and sent me home. I am now back in the same position I started praying for relief

About two months ago. The pain started about a month after.

A really painful shocking pain in my face throughout the day and night. It can be brought on by me laughing or smiling or my hair touching my face. When there are no electrical shocks there is a constant burning pain. It’s only on my right side. I feel like the jaw pain is from me constantly clenching my teeth when I am in pain. The neurologist and my PC doctor both diagnosed me with tn2 and put me on tegretol xr 400 mg a day but I still have breakthrough pain

I have an appointment on Monday at 10. What should I say?
