Okay so as some of you might know I had an MVD in jan if this year, it worked for a couple months. At the end of June I had a Trial for a spinal cord stimulation tried, my doctor could not locate the trigeminal nerve. So yesterday my doctor tried to put the electrodes for the stimulator in up by my ear, my doctor was only able to stimulate 1 out of the 3 branches. Needless to say it was frustrating and emotional. I will go back and see my doctor in a few weeks and we will go over what other options I have, we were really hoping the stimulator worked as this was the less invasive surgery.
I’m wondering what is going to be next? What else is there

Hi Andrea…I also had a unsuccessful MVD…it was the lowest point in my life!! I did have a peripheral nerve stimulator place last Nov. It covers v1 very well!! V2 not so well. So I am also on a great med combo…trileptal, baclofen cymbalta, and amytripyline…After 5 years of searching I am PAINFREE during the day until I start getting tied!! I wouldn’t rule out the pns if the stimulation covered a really bad part of ur face. Now I only have to deal with v2 because the stimulator works 100% of the time for v1…best decision I have made so far!! Best of luck to u!!
