Hard to tell what works with other meds you are taking.
I am looking for the same thing, but because of other meds it limits my choice (tramadol for example).
Id love others to answer as well bout what they use instead of ultram / tramidol (almost useless)

Well, tramadol worked very well for about a year and then it stopped. I'm taking neurontin right now and that is it. I'm not sure what is going to be added next.
Hi Janetm,
This is question you will get multiple answers for, as everyone is a bit different when it comes to medications. For my self, I use morphine IR (instance release). It usually takes the pain down a few notches and then knocks me out enough to sleep thru the worse of it. You should let your doctor know if tramadol is no longer working for; so you both can discuss the best route for you treatment.
Are you already at a high dose of neurontin? Can it be raised?
I used prescription lidocaine patches -- saved my life! I was able to keep my med dose lower.
I'm still fairly new to the meds, as i was just diagnosed this past June, so i'm not tried em all however...
Upping my gabapentin (neurotin) when i'm having breakthrough pain, works very well for me. I take 300mg 3x per day...but on bad days i've been taking 900mg 3x per day and that is working pretty well. I take this in addition to my regular doses of carbamazepine 400mg 3x per day.
Wishing you peace and less pain

I don't use anything. If it gets bad enough, I go back to the doc and we end up increasing my tegretol.
How do u make this oil? Is it only legal in some states to make oil ?
What are the cognitive side effects of your oil? Are you "high"?
