What do you know about a test called "SENSORY EVOKED POTENTIAL" test ? -r.i

a doctor last week told me about this test.. it's like an EMG, but not an EMG..

to try and specify if the damage comes from a periferial nevrve (in the jaw for example) or other nerve.. such a pressure of a blood vessle.

this test sounds very good in theory to help give a clue to people before MVD.. and are especially good in my case - where a blood vessel WAS found in an MRI.. but my pain started IMMEDIATLY after a dental work (suggesting my injury is local)..

i don't really belive this test to be that great.. cause otherwise mand people would have been reffered to it.

anyone heard of it , your thoughts ?

I have heard of it. It is used to check for MS, amongst other things. I don't know anything else beyond that. I believe a couple of my email friends had it done. I can ask them. One used to be a neuro. nurse.

thanks.

i was noted that there is a specific test for the TRIGEMINAL nerve.. called :

Brain-stem trigeminal evoked potentials. BTEPS
