Trigeminal neuraltractotomy

I’ve had tn and post herpetic neuralgia since Jan 2010. This condition has sent me for quite the roller coaster ride in the last 6 years. I’ve been on every med u can think of, seen every doctor that was available in bc and have had all surgeries and procedures that have been recommended. Ita broken up my family and I’ve almost lost my kids too my ex multiple times. Months at a time in hospital and still suffering… I went and saw dr honey in Vancouver bc in November and he has decided he is going too do a trigeminal neuraltractotomy. He’s told me this is a new surgery that will be 8-12hrs long with a 3 month recovery that will be very painful (totally worth it if it cures me) just wondering if there’s anyone on here or if anyone knows of someone having this done? I know I probably won’t find many ppl with info as he said this is a brand new surgery and I’ll be the 5th in North America too get it done… I’m scared and can’t find any info on it online because it is new so if anyone out there has any info on this for how recovery is and if it worked for them it would be much appreciated if u could message me. Thx

I just saw Dr. Honey and he is going to do the Motor Cortex Stimulation surgery on me. I am on the year long waiting list for surgery. He talked to me a bit about your surgery. If the MCS doesn't work for me then this will be my next option. I am interested in any info you have on this too. Good luck and I hope it works for you!

Thanks I’ll let u know how it goes whenever I get it.
