I was looking at images of the cranial nerves, and thought it was interesting that the pathways of the Facial Nerve look very similar to the pathways of the Trigeminal nerve- how is TN diagnosed over neuralgia of the facial nerve? Does it matter for TN 2/ Atypical facial pain, especially if surgery is not an option, after all nerve pain is nerve pain?
